PARISHES PILOT NEIGHBOURHOOD PLANS

Three parish councils have been chosen to pilot a new way of shaping how their communities will develop. Situated in Northumberland's North Tyne Valley, the parishes have been chosen by the government to be a Front Runner of Neighbourhood Planning.

NALC LAUNCHES 'PEOPLE' CONFERENCE

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) is to hold three major conferences across the country in 2012. Under the title of People in Action, NALC will be showing how very local (parish and town) councils can be even more connected to communities.

Strictly Localism event

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) and the Local Government Association (LGA) to host an event on improving the working relationships between the two tiers.

On the shortlist

The government has confirmed the areas shortlisted to pilot neighbourhood-level community budgets.

Larger Local Councils' Conference 2011
